Bathrooms in Middle School
When I seen this picture it made me think about how confused children can be when it comes to Lesbians, Gays and Transgender. So then the question is how young is to young for children to start learning the difference. From this picture I would like to assume that this girl is in middle school at least, but shes standing in front of the doors not sure which one she wants to enter. I think since more unisex bathrooms are being created I feel like students should be more educated on the difference between the three.

The picture is a great touch to start off your introduction. Children should be at least introduced to the fact that gender is a little bit more complicated than just boy and girl.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your points made here, and I feel that the picture is a great touch to get the point across. Kids really do need to be educated about gender because it can be very confusing to them but the other confusing thhing is how young is too young to teach them?

i do not agree with the statements above. I think chidren should know whether or not they are a boy or a girl, and if other feelings develope then they need to be taught the difference. Children are so impressionable and they give into a lot a peer pressure, even though we do not want children to hide if they are homosexual, we dont want to encourage straight children to be homosexual or want to be transgender.

I think that children should be taught at a very young age about the lgbtq community. If they are taught about it likes a part of life, than children wont think its wrong. But if you don't teach them and keep them in the dark about it, then when they do find out about it, they're gonna know that its not a social expected thing.
